About Margaret

back

I am a mother of 3 amazing and strong women and a proud grandmother to Charlotte (14), Thomas (10) and Everly (2).

My career began as a registered nurse in northern Queensland in the late 1970's before becoming a midwife. From here, I travelled with my husband to Portland and Geelong, Victoria where I worked in both public and private hospitals.

In the late 1980's I moved to Port Stephens. I now happily reside in a leafy suburb in Newcastle.

I worked across several hospitals including John Hunter, Maitland and Newcastle Private in birthing suite, special care nursery and postnatal ward.

I take a gentle and holistic approach to providing breastfeeding support and caring for mothers and babies through thoughtful guidance and encouragement focusing on the most natural means possible which is instinct.

I've had the privilege of assisting many mums and babies in the early stages of motherhood during my midwifery career and I am deeply passionate about supporting families and helping them succeed and thrive in their pursuit of a healthy and happy mother and baby.

I have extensive experience in nursing, midwifery, lactation and postnatal support. In was my work in the postnatal wards that compelled me to want to continue my study in the area of lactation.
